If you want to visit Chernobyl, you can. There are tours that will take you to the nearby village of Pripyat, and if you’re “lucky,” you’ll get to go close to the reactor.

But if you don’t want to pay for a tour, you can always just sneak in. This guy did, and he managed to film the reactor from the inside — exposing himself to an incalculable amount of radiation in the process.

In his videos, one can see exactly what the reactor looks like as of the turn of the millennium, though the footage is slightly worn due to the effects of radiation on the camera’s tape. Very few things are eerier than this!
